Story Time With Gio

  A new day and a new city.  Welcome to Milwaukee!  I am now here where my gear is.  This week I prep my rig for the road.  We are using a Company called Clearwing.  The have two locations, here and one in Phoenix.  I have worked for them tons of times in Phoenix so I know a lot of the guys here.  It is nice being a kid in a candy store.  I get what I want...... to a certain degree.  This is where I will put together my monitor package and audio package, check out the lighting rig.  This is when it gets exciting for me cause I am a gear nut.
  Milwaukee is freezing.  I have this problem when I travel that I think everyone has the weather like Phoenix.  Once again it is raining and cold and I am stuck in a hotel room..... again.  We will see what tomorrow has in store.

Tech Support...

  The last two nights have been really fun here in Orlando at the TUT rehearsals.  I have gotten to know a lot better some people in the cast.  When you see these legends, icons to some, you forget that the are human too.  They deal with the same day to day routine as you do.  For example, Michael Prince was on the phone for two hours yesterday with tech support tryin to get his internet back on in LA for his kids.  He then expresses to me his frustration to me in a colorful slew of words.  Ive been there before MP.  All I could do is laugh at him, and I did.  Good people and good company really help the days go by.  Two more days in Orlando and then Im off to Milwaukee for a week to prep the rig.  Living the dream, living the dream.

Into Darkness.....

  After another day of TUT (The Ultimate Thriller) and all of it's fun, I decided to go to the movies with Travis.  I cannot remember the last time I went to the movie theater, but I don't remember it being $14.00!!!  Holy crap, no wonder the place was empty.  I've been kept up in my hotel room for a few days now and getting a little cabin fever.  I needed to go out!  Outside, play in the grass, go for a walk, anything but look at the four pee stained walls in this dungeon.  Travis said we should see the new Star Trek movie, I was like NERD! Never seen one never will.  I felt like I was going to be surrounded by geeks and trekkies, and their smells and glasses.  I got my ticket and my 3D glasses, walked into an empty theater and said, I will give this 10 minutes and then I will cruise around and find a "good" movie.  2 hours and 20 minutes later I was left wanting more.  This geek movie was AWESOME!  almost as awesome as the first Matrix.  Ok not that awesome but pretty close.  The 3D was unbelievable and the CGI was incredible. Well played Star Trek, well played.  Beam me up Scotty, I am now a fan.

A day with a legend

Day 2

Loaded everything in and took the rig for a spin today.  Some of the people involved in this show are idols!  To name one, Mr. Michael Prince.  He was MJ's audio engineer for years.  He mixed Bad, Thriller, Dangerous, and History.  This man has revolutionized how pop sounds.  How drums sound, how a guitar sounds.  Best of all he has MJ's Original tracks!  He pulled up his show from this is it, the day MJ died and showed me the final changes that MJ made that night.  The stories he has is unbelievable.  It was nice to pick his brain and make him tell me stories.  Oh ya, the rig I am using was designed for "This Is It", and I get to use it!

Back with and update!

Well I'm Back!!!  This time I'm gonna keep at it and update as much as possible!  I am on a new journey this time and runs till Aug. 17th.  Check it out www.theultimatethriller.com This is my new project. I have posted stuff before about it but now we are on tour and I will have cool pics and video!  Today I had to say goodbye to the family and that was harder than usual.  I thought it would be better to say goodbye at home rather than drag them to the airport for an emotional train wreck.  Tomorrow is Day 1 of this tour and I am excited!
